This is how you take a break at our office .
Too many holiday parties means you’ve got buns, hun? Well that’s something we’ve been “working” on at our office. We’ve recently added mini office workout sessions to our to-do list. It’s wonderful and surprisingly easy to incorporate exercise into your day-to-day routine
I can’t stress how important it is to just get up and move around from time to time. We all get busy. We all get stressed out now and then. And, perhaps your office isn’t the ideal setting to pump iron. But if you think you spend most of your days sitting in a chair and you’d like to change this, we’ve got a few tips for you.
Here’s how we do it at our office (and you should too):
Step 1: Pencil in some time. Even if it’s five minutes a day, we’ve found that it helps to have something on the calendar. Our workouts range from 5 to 10 minutes in length and we aim to perform them twice a day. Go ahead and set up a reoccurring meeting on your calendar. This will help you get started and stay dedicated to your workouts. Don’t worry, we won’t tell if you miss one. You may have a call or a meeting that is priority but just having a reminder helps big time.
Step 2: Find a Neat Exercise App. You’d be surprised by how many cool exercise apps there are floating around the universe. We love, love, love Sworkit – and it’s free! We think this app is the best for office exercise sessions because you don’t need any equipment to workout. All the exercises require just your bodyweight. You can also adjust the intensity level, workout length and type of exercise you are looking for (Strength, Cardio, Yoga, Upper Body, Lower Body etc.).
Step 3: Don’t Forget Your Fly Workout Gear. We’re addicted to clothes from Fabletics – Kate Hudson’s line of athletic apparel. We love this site for the nicely put together outfits and the clothes are darn comfy too.
Step 4: Find a Place to Exercise. You don’t need much room. Can you find an empty conference room? Or, maybe the parking lot is the best place to feel the burn. There are a variety of exercises you can do that don’t require a ton of room. We like exercises like running in place, push-ups and squats.
Step 5: Get to Work! Sweat is your fat crying.
We hope you give Sworkit a try. And feel free to send us your thoughts on fun ways to workout at the office.
